“William Blake (1757-1827) was a visionary English poet, painter, and printmaker of the Romantic era, known for his unique mystical visions, fervent imagination, and complex symbolic art and verse.  Born in London to a working-class family, he showed early artistic talent. He developed his own techniques for illuminated printing, combining text and image, and produced profound works exploring spirituality, social injustice, and human existence, though many contemporaries deemed him eccentric or mad.”
