Edwin W Slater (1875- was born in England in 1875, he arrived in australia around 1905. He was well known for his illustrations of different types of birds and various animals. During the 1950's he was employed by the Tasmanian Tourism board to illustrate a number of tasmania's most noteworthy animals and birds.
