"Louisa Anne Meredith was a published author, poet, botanist and artist. After her family moved from Birmingham to Tasmania, she wrote extensively about her new home. Her wildflower drawings won medals in exhibitions in Australia and overseas, including at the Melbourne Exhibition of 1866. Her published works documented both daily life in the colony and the flora and fauna of the island."
