William Delafield Cook, Senior: Melbourne (1861-1931) A listed Australian artist, Cook studied under John Ford Patterson and was a member of the Council of the Victorian Artists Society for many years and exhibited regularly. He was a member of the Heidelberg School, a prominent Australian art movement of the late 19th century, known for pioneering en plein air (outdoor) Impressionism. Cook was specifically known as a painter of landscapes and seascapes.
