Beatrix Potter vintage print, Kittens, gilt framed artwork
Circa 1960s vintage colour offset print after Beatrix Potter, depicting the delightfully chaotic bedroom scene from The Tale of Tom Kitten (first published 1907), presented under glass with a cream mount in an ornate gilt frame.
Potter’s delicate watercolour palette and finely observed linework bring the kittens’ domestic mischief to life, with the rich raspberry-pink bed curtains forming a wonderfully playful focal point.

Artist biography: Helen Beatrix Potter (1866–1943) was an English author, illustrator and naturalist whose beautifully observed watercolours and enduring animal characters made her one of the most celebrated figures in children’s literature. Educated largely at home, Potter developed exceptional skills in drawing from nature and became particularly accomplished in botanical and animal studies before turning her illustrated letters into published stories. The Tale of Peter Rabbit was commercially published by Frederick Warne in 1902, beginning a celebrated series of illustrated “little books” that included The Tale of Tom Kitten. Later in life she became a farmer, Herdwick sheep breeder and committed conservationist in England’s Lake District; at her death in 1943 she left thousands of acres and numerous farms to the National Trust.
