1819 antique map of Australia and surrounds, engraved, hand coloured, Thompson & Co, vintage framed

Genuine antique map, over 200 years old, titled "East India Isles & Australia". It was drawn by J. Wyld and engraved using copperplate techniques and hand colouring by N.R. Hewitt, and originally published by John Thomson & Co. in Edinburgh in 1819. The map is notable for using the name "Australia" prior to its official adoption by the British Admiralty in 1824. Framed with simple black lacquered wood with gold trim, behind glass.
