Kikukawa Eizan (1787–1867) was a prominent Japanese ukiyo-e artist specializing in bijin-ga (pictures of beautiful women) during the Bunka era (1804-1818). He created elegant, slender, and fashionable female figures, often regarded as the last major master of the classical, refined style of beauty before later, more realistic, and bolder styles took over. Eizan is considered a crucial bridge between 18th-century classical ukiyo-e and the later 19th-century styles.
