Sir Hans Heysen (1877–1968) was a celebrated German-born Australian artist renowned for his monumental watercolour and oil paintings of Australian gum trees and the Flinders Ranges. Based at "The Cedars" in Hahndorf, South Australia, he won the Wynne Prize nine times, was knighted in 1959, and was a pioneering environmental conservationist.
