About the Artist
Vincent van Gogh (1853–1890) was a Dutch Post-Impressionist painter and one of the most influential figures in modern art. Celebrated for his expressive brushwork, vibrant colour palette and deeply personal approach to painting, Van Gogh produced an extraordinary body of work during his relatively short artistic career. His paintings, including Sunflowers, The Starry Night and his celebrated self-portraits, transformed the direction of modern painting.
