"Henry Moore (1898-1986) was a highly influential English sculptor known for his monumental, abstract, and often reclining figures. He is considered one of the most important sculptors of the 20th century. Born in Castleford, Yorkshire, Moore's work was inspired by nature, primitive art, and the human form, particularly the mother and child and reclining figures. He also created significant drawings, including those depicting Londoners sheltering from the Blitz during World War II."
