Walter Magilton (1933-2025) is a celebrated Australian artist, a renowned member and Fellow of the Victorian Artists Society. Growing up on a dairy farm in rural Victoria, surrounded with forest. His works unifies both spiritual and physical responses to landscape. An art critic once reviewed a London exhibition and wrote:
'Walter Magilton’s landscapes fill the gallery with space, light and air. The farmlands and the countryside … whilst losing nothing of their Australian ruggedness is revealed with sensitive nuances one associates with the best in English landscape painting.'
